Ce transcript est celui de la video d'Ed à la Comic Con de Juillet dont la video se trouve dans la section vidéo. Elle a été réalisée par le site Shurtugal.com
Je vous la met en anglais et j'essayerais de la traduire du mieux que je peux.
Anglais:Mike Macauley, Shurtugal.com: Alright, I'm here with Ed Speleers from the Eragon movie. He plays Eragon. We just got out of the screening, so, yeah. I really don't know what I'm doing, but alright. So, how does it feel to act alongside people like Jeremy Irons, etc.
Ed Speleers: It's um, well it's a pretty amazing opportunity. I was very lucky. But you know, like I was saying inside, the first time I saw Jeremy coming in, I was like anyone else would have been. I would have liked to have leaped out from the makeup trailer and go say "Hi" to him. And every single one of them, amazing people to work with. Unfortunately, I didn't get to spend much time with Joe, I literally just met the guy and I was sort-of like, you know, jaw by my feet. Yeah, I mean, day in and day out they help me. You have to remember, I've done nothing before, so many people were like, it could have been really bad, it could have been crappy.
Mike: Well I was impressed with what I saw, you did a great job.
Ed:Thank you. But, everyone behind me was helping me out.
Mike: So, what do you think was the most difficult part to film for the movie?
Ed: I think at the beginning parts, working alongside Saphira. That to start with was quite tricky, until I started letting myself use my imagination. Because you know, for me, until just then, Saphira was just this little tennis ball on top of a long pole. So, I was looking at this orange tennis ball this whole time, which was fine, but eventually it allowed me to just create my own Saphira. And I think that aided me in sort-of doing the role. Some of the physically-demanding stunts, a lot of the wirework, the actual dragon riding...sometimes I was upside down like thirty feet up on wires on like one leg and having to swing up onto the dragon. Amazing fun, but at the same time, I was thinking if I wasn't doing this for a job I would have to be insane to do that. You know, but it was an amazing experience.
Mike: So what was your favorite part to film?
Ed: Favorite part to film...I want to say all of it, but you want a specific part, you want a really good answer. Stuff at the Varden was pretty amazing.
Mike: So, that was inside the crater in, what was that, uhh, the hill name. In Hungary right?
Ed:Yeah, I remember the first day I came in I saw this crater with all these people and buildings. I was just like, wow.
Mike: Well there were fans all over that, we had some pictures.
Ed: Yeah, yeah I saw some of the pictures you had up there. It's hard for you to get copies of that. Sneaky.
Mike: *laughing* Yeah, I don't know how we do it.
Ed: Well, also some of the horse riding in Vancouver, like galloping through rivers and stuff with Jeremy, that was. And also in Slovakia, when Sienna Guillory and myself were on top of the mountain. It was just, literally, there was this helicopter coming around us, you know, it was literally just me and her up on this mountain.
Mike: Now how'd you get up there, by helicopter?
Ed: Yeah, and I was just standing there while the helicopter was coming by taking shots, quite cold, and I just couldn't see anything but forests and mountains. And I was thinking, "I'm the luckiest guy in the world."
Mike: So, you were cast just a few weeks before you started filming. Did you think that was a challenge?
Ed: Yeah, well, the whole thing was a challenge, but it was the kind of challenge I wanted. You know, I've wanted a challenge like this for a long time. In many ways, I've been blessed. Yeah, it was a challenge, but I think the fact that I had such a short period of time...I just completely lost what I was going to say. I think it put me under a certain amount of pressure. I sort of work better under a bit of pressure.
Mike: Now, you, since this was all new to you, did you find like leaving your family and friends a challenge?
Ed: At times, yeah. But I grew up at boarding school since I was seven years old, so when I got to Hungary, four months away is just like a traveling trip for me. It was great, and most of the time I didn't have time to start thinking about it. I had friends come over for the summer holidays and I went back for some things, like 18th birthday parties and all. But I didn't really have time to think, like, "What's mum or what's dad doing?" And I think it helped because the character himself, we kinda shoot the film from start to get some continuity, and I think it helped as Eragon starts to lose the people, his important family, I kinda did the same.
Mike: So, do you ever visit the fansites?
Ed: Yeah. I've visited your site a few times. A bit emotional, there's been some nasty things on there at times.
Mike: Well we can't control the people.
Ed: No, no. I know. I can understand...
Mike: There the hardest critics, they're the ones you want to impress.
Ed: No, no. It's good to see they're so passionate about it.
Mike: Well, I mean, a year ago it wasn't looking so good. But then it's been progressing into this big thing and now you see that. And it, it's Eragon.
Ed: Good. You enjoyed it then?
Mike: Yeah, I think so, it was definitely great. I was impressed.
Ed: Good, good. I'm glad you think so. Cause you guys, you know, are more important than most people.
Mike: Yeah, I mean, we're going to go back. We're giving it great reviews.
Ed: Thank you.
Mike: So you've read Eragon and Eldest?
Ed: Yeah, I've read Eragon and I've read Eldest. Ive read it [Eragon] twice. Once before I got the job just because it was around and once I got the job, I read it after I finished. I just recently reread it in Spain.
Mike: So, how were you cast? You were an Eragon fan before?
Ed: Uh, not a fan, I mean, I was a book fan. I mean, I read books and it was a book going around my school. But I mean, I've read that kind of genre. Yeah, I think to say fan is different, I'm just a book lover. So, I was just reading the book, enjoying it.
Mike: So you've read book two then?
Ed: Yeah, and that's what I was trying to say earlier about how I translated some of his fight movements, like the crane and snake. So. that's what I'm working on myself with the trainer.
Mike: Yeah, that will be interesting.
Ed: Yeah, some of the fight stuff...
Mike: It'll be fun, it'll be crazy.
Ed: Oh, it'll be wicked. It'll be amazing fun.
Mike: Alright, well, I think thats it. I'm all out of questions. So thank you, thank you very much.
Ed: You too, thanks.
